PEACE MACHINE

In the summer of 2004 as part of a Peace Pledge Union education project a group of children from two primary schools began to explore their visions of peace. We asked the children to imagine what the world would be like without weapons or wars. Following a series of workshops and videos they drew their ideas, shared them with the group and together we all painted a peace mural. The end result is a magnificent mural of a ‘peace machine’ which transforms weapons and soldiers into tools and people for peace.

Envisaging a world without organised violence is an essential step on the journey towards a more peaceful world - for adults and children alike.

The mural can be see during office hours or out of office hours by special arrangement.
