LOUIS JOHN FORTH 1895 - 1918

support

Louis John FORTH was born in 1895. He worked in an ironmonger’s shop, but lived in the staff quarters of a children’s home run by his mother, probably under the auspices of the Board of Guardians. A Baptist, he accepted exemption only from combatant service and call-up on 27 March 1916 to the 1st Eastern Company, Non-Combatant Corps, and posted to France on 23 April. He served until he was taken ill on 30 October 1918 – probably the influenza epidemic – and died on 6 November.

He is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
