MAURICE THOMPSON BARKER 1897 - 1915

support

Maurice was born in 1897. He lived in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, working as a private secretary. Although not a Quaker (he would have had some Christian denominational allegiance), he volunteered for the Friends’ Ambulance Unit in July 1915, and worked in France until September 1915, when he developed some form of blood poisoning, dying at Abbeville on 29 September 1915. He is buried in Abbeville Communal Cemetery.
